The Obaapa Development Foundation (ODF), in collaboration with MSI Reproductive Choices, successfully organized a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) training session at Menish Hotel in the Ashanti Region. The training brought together a cross-section of traditional leaders from various communities within the region.

The objective of the training was to equip traditional leaders with comprehensive knowledge on reproductive health, with a strong focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). By deepening their understanding of these critical issues, the initiative aims to empower these leaders to become vocal and effective advocates within their respective communities.

The presence and active participation of the traditional leaders underscored the importance of integrating cultural leadership into ongoing efforts to promote SRHR and eliminate stigma surrounding reproductive health. Discussions during the training included topics such as adolescent reproductive health, prevention of gender-based violence, the importance of access to family planning services, and the role of cultural norms in shaping community health behaviors.

This training forms part of ODF’s broader commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable community-led development by engaging key influencers and decision-makers in advancing gender equity and health rights.

ODF extends its appreciation to all participating traditional leaders and to MSI Reproductive Choices for their invaluable support and partnership in driving this impactful initiative.
