As part of the Joint Global Programme to End Child Marriage, Obaapa Development Foundation, with support from UNFPA, trained traditional leaders in the Ave Traditional Area. Following this training, the traditional leaders have taken a critical step towards protecting the rights and well-being of young girls, ensuring they can complete their education and make informed decisions about their futures. Through school-based programmes, the traditional authority has successfully engaged over 2,000 young people, promoting awareness and action to combat child marriage. By reaching out to youth in their educational settings, the programme has facilitated a supportive environment, encouraging open discussions and empowering young people to become advocates for change in their communities.
