Obaapa Development Foundation Celebrates Queenmothers Day in Cape Coast

The Obaapa Development Foundation (ODF) on 3rd September 2025 celebrated Queenmothers Day in Cape Coast to honour the vital role of queenmothers in promoting women’s empowerment and community development. The event brought together queenmothers from across the Central Region, traditional leaders, and women’s groups to discuss leadership, mentorship, and the protection of girls’ rights.

The Executive Director of ODF commended the queenmothers for their tireless efforts in preserving culture and supporting initiatives against child marriage and gender-based violence. Participants called for stronger collaboration between traditional authorities and development partners to advance women’s welfare and community progress.
